The Solar Project

We are pleased to announce that our green credentials have taken a boost,

as your favourite library now has solar power and battery storage installed.

This is all thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund who, after a success bid last year, gave us all the money to spend on our latest project.

Unfortunately we won't be generating enough power at this time of year to be self-sufficient, especially when the sun refuses to show itself,

but it will be making a significant dent in our electric bills. Roll on Spring and Summer !
Thanks also to our preferred installer Project Green, Ashford for doing a brilliant job in horrible weather conditions.

If anyone is thinking of getting solar power installed at home, we'll be happy to provide you with advice from our experience.

---

Now onto our next project, getting the main library properly insulated and cladded.

Bostall Library has been providing the community with a wealth of resources since 1939.

With a strong community feel, Bostall Library is the home of book lovers, and our friendly staff and volunteers are always happy to help.

We have a large selection of books, journals and educational resources spanning a wide range of genres.

Computers are available to aid in your research, and our building has Wi-Fi access for those wishing to bring their own devices.

For those seeking to study, or who simply wish to escape the modern-day hustle and bustle, we offer a quiet zone.

Children are more than welcome in our library; we have a range of children’s novels and encourage reading at home from an early age. Please ask for more information about our child friendly activities, or click on the relevant tab above.

About Us

As a group of local residents who have benefited from the provision of our local library over the last 40 years we wanted to ensure that the library remained open to enable this benefit to continue for many more years to come.

Our primary objective is to add value to the local community by providing and enhancing an active library.

At the same time we will be creating a “Community Hub” hosting events and offering new and existing services.

One of our main objectives to was create a Coffee Shop for everyone to come along, meet up and socialise in a friendly homely environment.. Come and give us a try - Takeaways available as well...
